Bible Story: David helps Mephibosheth • 1 Samuel 20:14-17; 2 Samuel 9:1-13
Bottom Line: God made people who help me.

Cuddle Time:  Cuddle up with your child and pray with him. “Dear God, thank You for making (child’s name). I love him so much. I pray he will always look for ways to be a happy helper. Help us both to be kind and loving to others. We love You, God. Amen.”

ELEMENTARY:

Gratitude: Letting others know you see how they’ve helped you.
Bible Story: Lord’s Supper (Luke 22: 14-20)
Bottom Line: Take time to celebrate what God has done.
Memory Verse: “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 9NIV)

MEAL TIME: Use these simple open ended discussion questions to lead your family.
Ask a Kid: What’s something our family can do to take time for gratitude every day?
Ask a Parent: What is something you remember from the past that you’re still thankful for now?

Bible Story: David and Jonathan • 1 Samuel 18:1-4; 20

Bottom Line: God made people who help me.

Bath Time:  God made your child. One of the things God made your child to do is help others. Two ways your child can help others is by being kind and loving to people. Use bath time this month to help your child learn Ephesians 4:32, our Bible verse for the month. As you help your child wash his hair and body, repeat Ephesians 4:32 over and over. Say to your child, “God made ME to help YOU. I am being kind and loving when I help you take a bath.”

ELEMENTARY:

Bible Story: Jesus Heals 10 Lepers (Luke 17:11-19)

Bottom Line: Take time to say thank you.

MEAL TIME: Use these simple open ended discussion questions to lead your family.

Ask a Kid: Have you ever been ungrateful even though you were given a good thing? How would you do things differently next time?

Ask a Parent: Name 10 things you are grateful for right now.

Finding Your Place

What a great wrap up to our Starting Point series.  A special thanks to our creative team for giving us a great visual reminder of how God can take the torn and broken pieces of our lives that are surrendered to Him, and fit them beautifully into His amazing story.  My prayer and passion is that we continue to be a church that shows our community and the world the picture God’s redemptive story through the way we live our lives.  Stay in the story!

 This weekend we’ll finish our journey through God’s story…the Bible.  I hope you will be able to be here for this final week, as we see what it looks like when we connect with God’s story and with each other.  As I shared with you two and a half month’s ago, when we started this journey, the more you know God’s story the easier it becomes to find your place in it.  I hope this series and study has helped you not only have a better understanding of the Bible, but even more important, that you have taken a next step in being a part of God’s continuing story.

Kidz Creek Parent Connection

Bible Story: Ruth and Naomi • Ruth 1:1-19

This Week God gives me family to care for me.

Play Time:  We all want our children to be a happy helper. You can begin teaching them now. Ask your child to join in with you as you carry groceries or sort laundry. Sing the simple tune below as you help one another. Singing makes helping fun!

(Sing to the tune of “The More We Sing Together”)

“I’m a happy helper, a helper, a helper. I’m a happy helper, a helper indeed!

“God made me a helper, a helper, a helper. God made me a helper. Look at me!”
