H.O.M.E. Groups FAQs:

Q: What happens at a H.O.M.E. Group meeting?
A: An evening with your H.O.M.E. Group is an enjoyable time together with friends where you are able to develop relationships with one another and with God. The H.O.M.E. Group meetings usually consist of:

Fellowship: Time to just be together, have some snacks, and catch up on what has been happening.

Focus Outward: Discussion of how we can serve those in the community.

A: H.O.M.E. Groups are led by trained leaders who have completed the H.O.M.E. Group Leaders training Seminar and served as an apprentice leader in a group. Leaders also attending a monthly "Huddle" for ongoing training and support.

Q: Where do H.O.M.E. Groups meet?
A: H.O.M.E. Groups are hosted by one or more members of the group in their home.

Q: When do H.O.M.E. Groups meet and for how long?
A: H.O.M.E. Groups normally meet on a weekly basis for about an hour and a half. Specific days and times are left up to the discretion of the group.

Q: Do I bring my kids to H.O.M.E. Group?
A: We don't bring our children to H.O.M.E. Group because it just isn't the right environment for them. Children are cute and restless which can both cause distractions for people who are trying to share and learn. However, Children are more than welcome when the H.O.M.E. Group is having a social get-together.

Q: What about child care?

A: There are several options for childcare for those attending H.O.M.E. Groups. Each group is responsible for their own childcare plans. The first option is to have relatives or neighbors spend time with your children. For those who do not have that option, the church pays for child care with either one of our sitting services or a private sitter. The H.O.M.E. Group leader will familiarize you with the group's sitting plans. We ask that members in a group work together in this area so that we are good stewards of the church's money.

Q: Will I be "put on the spot" when I attend a H.O.M.E. Group?
A: NO! Groups are designed for you to participate at a level in which you feel comfortable. Leaders are trained to never ask anyone to say, pray, play or read anything they are not comfortable with.
