After Hurricane Helene

Family Hangout and Support After Hurricane Helene

In response to Hurricane Helene, we are coming together as a church to offer a space of fellowship, rest, and support. This Thursday, October 3rd, from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m., we’re hosting a Family Hangout at the Banks Mill Campus. This will be a time for all families to connect, play games, enjoy each other’s company, and open our arms to the Aiken Community. Snacks, drinks, and charging stations will be available, and the worship center will be open for anyone seeking quiet time for prayer or meditation.

We also understand that many in our community may have practical needs during this time. To help, we’re introducing the **Need Connect Board**. Whether you need help with yard debris cleanup, restocking supplies, or other forms of assistance, this tool will connect you with church members who have time or resources to share. After signing up, you’ll receive a confirmation email matching you with someone who can help.

In addition, if you or someone you know needs access to mental health resources, our Care & Counseling department is ready to assist. We’re here to support you in every way possible during this challenging time.

Let’s come together as a church family to lift each other up and support our community. Invite a friend who could use some hope, light, and a sense of belonging. We hope to see you there!

Click Next and enter your contact information as requested. This information will be shared with the person who volunteers to help you. Click submit and wait to be contacted. You can follow up with the church within 24 hours of your request to check the status of your request and we will do our best to assist.

For those who can help others, visit the Need Connect Board and click I CAN Help. Check the boxes for which you can provide help or assistance. If you have special skills or resources not on the list, please add that in the box labeled “other”. Click Next and enter your contact information as requested. This information will be shared with the person whose needs you are matched with. Once you receive a confirmation email, please confirm your readiness to help. You will receive another email once you are matched with a need. Please monitor your email for the second email to come through. Once you are given the contact information of the person who needs assistance, it is your responsibility to reach out to them directly as soon as possible to coordinate the help.

Connect with a Counselor

It’s okay to feel lost, overwhelmed, helpless, and sad. It’s important to hold space for the healing and rebuilding that will come. Please let our team know if we can help you navigate this journey of struggling with the aftermath of this storm. We would love to connect with you and schedule a time to talk.
