Basic Bible Facts

• The Bible is a collection of 66 books written over a period of about 1500 years by about 40 different authors.

• The Bible was written and assembled by men under the INSPIRATION OF GOD.

“Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were MOVED BY the Holy Spirit, and they SPOKE FROM God.” 2 Peter 1:20-21 (NLT)

• The Bible consists of multiple GENRES of texts.

• We all read through the lens of our BIASES.
