Kidz Creek Newsletter – March
Cedarcreekchurch

This month in Preschool, we’re celebrating the greatest “All Star” of all—Jesus! Through true stories from the Bible, preschoolers will discover that Jesus does what no one else can do. From powerful miracles to moments of compassion, every lesson points to one big truth: Jesus is amazing! Our prayer is that little hearts (and their families) will see just how incredible He is and grow in their love for Him each day.

In Elementary, GRACE, and Switch, kids will explore what many call the “Upside-Down Kingdom.” While the world often says success is about being first or being in charge, Jesus showed us something completely different. He lived with humility, served others, and put people before Himself. Through stories like John the Baptist pointing others to Jesus, loving our enemies, spending time with Jesus first, and washing His disciples’ feet, kids will learn that true greatness in God’s Kingdom comes from serving others and putting them first.

We are counting down to Easter! We hope your Family Easter Countdown from Kidz Creek. Remember, it is meant to be simple and fun—not another thing on your to-do list.

Have fun filling your eggs and using the objects to spark real conversations with your kids about Jesus and the hope of Easter. Some days it might be a quick chat at dinner. Other times it might be a short prayer before bed. It doesn’t have to be perfect—just intentional.

Missed getting your Countdown? We have a few left, stop by Check-In for a Family Bag, then ask your child’s Small Group Leader for the age-appropriate Countdown Mat. Let’s enjoy this season together—one simple moment at a time.

Join us for a fun, free night at Movie Night at the Park! This is a great chance to enjoy time together as a family and connect with our community.

Kidz Creek will be there passing out glow wands and saying hello—so be sure to stop by and see us! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite movie snacks, and enjoy a relaxed evening under the stars.

For full event details, visit the the Cedar Creek Website or App. We can’t wait to see you there!

Daylight Savings can make Sunday mornings feel a little extra early… so we’re adding a little extra fun!

On Sunday, March 8th at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM, kids are invited to wear their comfy pajamas to Kidz Creek. Pancakes will be served right in Small Group, making it an easy, relaxed, and cozy start to the morning.

No stress. No fancy outfits. Just comfy kids, warm pancakes, and a sweet time together as we kick off the day.

We can’t wait to see everyone bright-eyed… or at least pancake-powered! 🥞✨

Parent-Child Dedication is a meaningful moment for parents to publicly commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus—surrounded by the love and support of their church family.

This is for parents of children of any age. If you have never dedicated your child, we encourage you to be part of this special class and a powerful moment of prayer over your family

This isn’t about a child making a faith decision. It’s about parents choosing to intentionally lead their family in faith and trusting God with their child’s future

On Sunday, March 22nd, we will gather together for one special service at 11:00 AM as we celebrate Pass the Baton Sunday.

There will be no Kidz Creek, GRACE, or Switch environments openduring this service. Instead, we invite ALL families to worship together. This is a celebration for our entire Cedar Creek family—every age and every ability. If your child wiggles, whispers, or needs to move around a bit, that’s okay! We love seeing families worship side by side. Activity sheets and colored pencils will be available for busy hands.

If you prefer an alternative setting, the Family Worship Room will be open where families can view the service in a separate environment. Please note that space in this room is limited. For our GRACE families, one room in the Preschool area will also be available with alternative seating and sensory items. Families can comfortably watch the service together in that space.

We’re looking forward to celebrating this meaningful Sunday as one church family.

Mark your calendar for March 29th—it’s WOW Sunday!

All Elementary and Switch students will worship together in the Kidz Worship Room for the entire service. WOW Sundays are always high-energy and full of fun. We also encourage our Switch students to step up and serve; whether that’s leading worship on stage, helping prepare supplies, co-leading a small group, assisting with games, or shadowing our media team. It’s such a special way for them to grow in leadership.

And because WOW Sundays are extra special… we’re adding something extra sweet! We’ll have cotton candy in the foyer for kids of all ages (yes, grown-ups too!). Stop by, grab a cone, and hang out a little longer to enjoy some sweet treats and sweet connection time.

We promise—or at least promise to try—that the cotton candy cones will be small (we are not professional cotton candy makers 😉). We’ll also have bags available if you’d rather save the sugary goodness for after lunch.

It’s going to be a sweet day at Kidz Creek!

Easter Sunday is almost here—and it’s the perfect opportunity to invite a friend!

Easter is a day full of hope, joy, and celebration, and there’s no better time to say, “Come sit with us.” Whether it’s a neighbor, classmate, coworker, or another family you know, this is a simple way to share something meaningful.

Plus, every Kidz Creek family will leave with a special gift from Kidz Creek. Think of it like a little “party in a bag” to take home and keep the celebration going!

We can’t wait to celebrate that Jesus is alive—and celebrate it together

We are the first generation raising digital natives—and that can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re hosting Night Out: Screen Sanity, a practical and encouraging evening designed to help families think intentionally about technology.

And yes… we encourage even parents of babies to attend. It’s never too early to shape your family’s relationship with screens. The habits we build now matter later.

Parents will enjoy dinner and meaningful roundtable conversations with others in similar life stages, focusing on raising healthy, happy kids in a digital world.

Cost:

$10 per adult
$5 per child or individual with a disability

Important Parent Note: Parents are required to register for the event and remain on-site during Night Out. This is a shared family experience, and we want parents fully present and part of the evening.

What Kids & Students Can Expect

Birth–4th Grade:
Dinner, games, and crafts led by caring leaders.

Switch Students (5th–6th Grade):
Their own adventure with a bonfire, s’mores, and hotdogs cooked over the fire.

Individuals with disabilities:
A safe, welcoming sensory room with activities tailored to individual needs.

Middle & High School Options

7th Grade Students: May choose to participate in the Switch Bonfire ($5) or sign up to volunteer.

8th–12th Grade Students: May volunteer to help lead kids through activities or assist with serving dinner for parents.

This is more than a night out—it’s an investment in your family’s future. We can’t wait to learn and grow together.
