The Changing Role of Parenting Transitions – Part 3

“It takes wisdom to have a good family, and it takes understanding to make it strong.” Proverbs 24:3 (NCV)

Keys to Parenting Well

1) Prepare our kids for life.

“Jesus GREW in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52 (NIV)

Focus on relationships, character, and values.

2) Invest relationally.

“…Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14 (NIV)

“Then Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them.” Mark 10:16 (NIV)

3) Celebrate their uniqueness.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

4) Point our kids to Jesus.

“raise them (our kids) with the training and teaching of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 (NCV)

“Impress them on YOUR children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:7 (NIV)

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…” Philippians 3:8 (NLT)
